About the Inn

Spacious inn warmly decorated with antiques throughout.  Two guest rooms with private baths.   Located in the town of Galena on Route 213 north of Chestertown, and one mile South of the Sassafras River marina complex.  The inn was opened for business in 1992.  This is our seventeenth year.

You will be treated to a continental breakfast of assorted pastries and juices of your choice served in elegant surroundings between 8 and 10.

Built in 1880 by Dr. Dulany, a Galena physician, the house underwent a major renovation in 1948 changing the outside appearance to reflect a more colonial architectural style.  The house was again renovated in 1990 - 1992 by the Graham’s and has been featured twice on the Kent County Historical Society’s tour of homes.

Galena is an ideal location from which to explore major historical, entertainment and cultural centers.  We are equally one and one half hour’s drive from Baltimore, Washington, Philadelphia and Rehoboth Beach.  The DuPont museums and gardens are located in Wilmington, an hour’s drive to the north.

Kent County is unique in that it’s wide agricultural highways offer safe biking routes, the farm and water vistas are beautiful, and the entertainment and cultural events on-going in the area offer a respite from fast paced contemporary lifestyles.  Relax and enjoy!
